My name is Janine Vermeulen – Land and I will be working as a midwife at Geboortecentrum Zaanstad from October 2022.

After a year of studying to become a nurse, I found out that I wanted a medical profession, but that the hospital itself was not the place for me. Obstetrics is medical, but generally in a healthy way. So being a midwife in a practice was more appealing to me.
In July 2018 I graduated as a midwife at the Amsterdam Midwifery Academy. After this I worked at various practices, including Geboortecentrum Zaanstad in 2019.

Working as a midwife is challenging and interesting, but also very fun! Not every pregnant woman is the same and all deliveries are different. I think it is important to connect to personal wishes and to guide you as best as possible, so that hopefully you can look back positively at such a special period.

In September 2019 I became a mother of son James and in January 2022 my son Charlie was born into our family. Pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period have been very special periods for me (with all the ups and downs) that I thoroughly enjoyed!

You can find me one day a week as an on-call midwife and one day per week I will see you in our practice during the consultation hours.
