What is a birthing pool?
A birthing pool is a specially designed tub for use during labour. Giving birth in water has many benefits: the warm water will help the muscles relax, relieve pain, and give you more freedom of movement during contractions. Many women find that water birth provides a calming and supportive environment to welcome their baby into the world.
Why hire a birthing pool from us?
Hiring a birthing pool from Geboortecentrum Zaanstad is easy and quickly arranged. Simply let us know that you’d like to hire one, and we’ll take care of the rest. We ensure the pool is ready for you during your midwife appointment and will explain how to use it optimally. During labour, our midwife can instruct your (birth) partner on how to set up the pool and, of course, how to clean up afterwards. Our midwives will collect the pool during your postpartum week, allowing you to focus entirely on yourself and your baby.
